OBJKTS Jewelry travel rings are made with high-quality 5A cubic zirconia stones – the highest grade in the industry – that have been hand-carved and hand-finished with the help of a cutting disc. Each stone is set in 925 Sterling Silver that is plated in either 14K Gold or Platinum-Rhodium. We also have a Gold Vermeil collection (coated with 8x thicker gold plating than our other travel rings).
Although we use the highest quality materials for all of our designs, fashion jewellery can experience normal wear and tear over time. 925 sterling silver is an alloy made of 92.5% sterling silver and 7.5% copper. The copper is added for durability, but it might oxidise. If this happens to your ring, don’t worry! Just wipe it down with a soft cloth to remove any tarnish and restore its shine. Taking a fake engagement ring on holiday is the smartest way to avoid all of the stress and risks that come with bringing your real diamond along with you. You won’t have to panic about accidentally forgetting it in the hotel safe or losing it during an active excursion.
Can I Swim in My Engagement Ring?
As a general rule, you should avoid swimming in both your real engagement ring and your travel ring. Cold ocean water or pool water causes your fingers to shrink slightly, making it incredibly easy for a ring to slip off unnoticed. The harsh chemicals in swimming pools (like chlorine) and the salt in seawater can also damage or discolour precious metals over time.
