So, what is a Stopgap ring?

A Stopgap ring is an engagement ring’s stunt-double – a quick stand-in alternative that often looks as close to the desired style as possible, when the primary jewel is late or unavailable due to unforeseen delays, design changes or adjustments.

Our Stopgap rings come in various stone shapes, styles and sizes but have the same high quality, 3A-5A Cubic Zirconia that mimics a diamond, even producing more flashes of color & shine (known as fire)! The metals available for the band include 925 Sterling Silver, 14K Gold or Rhodium Plated and Gold Vermeil (coated with 8x thicker gold plating than our other travel rings).

Of course! Many people have switched to diamond simulants for a more conflict-free, affordable option that looks equally – or even more sparkly – than mined diamonds. That being said, always make sure to understand what your partner wants.

Only a skilled gemologist would really be able to tell a natural diamond from a simulant with the naked eye – so we’re confident that our rings will look just as luxurious as the real thing on whoever wears them! (We’ve had many customer reviews commenting on the intense sparkle and indistinguishability of our rings from their mined counterpart).
